Josh and Charlene met through a mutual friend and immediately hit it off.
No, wait? They didn't. . .

Charlene and Josh met at a moonlight meditation walk on the Winter Solstice of 2007. Inasmuch as that sounds like the happiest hippiest love story ever told, Charlene's initial response to meeting Josh was, "who? THAT guy?!?"

It wasn't until Charlene came to her friend's birthday party and 'THAT guy' (Josh) sat with her sweetly talking about Star Wars that Charlene was curious about him. She even said, "I would love to watch Star Wars with you" (note to all the single guys ... this is where you give a girl your number). Josh didn't pick up what Charlene put down, so she wished her friend a happy Birthday and went home.

Months later, Charlene threw a party and Josh showed up. He happily told Charlene all about his training at Apple, Inc. and Violet even snapped this picture of our Bride and groom awkwardly getting to know one another.

It was a fun night and Josh stuck around to help clean up, after the rest of the guests had left. Charlene was so appreciative of the help, they tidied up the party mess and Charlene looked around and josh had disappeared. Turns out, he was in the bathroom giving himself a pep talk in the mirror.  When he opened the bathroom door, Charlene happened to be standing in the hallway. Josh gathered all his newly found mirror confidence and gave her a great big kiss. Needless to say he got her number, finally.

The next day Josh called to check in on his new friend. What could she be doing? ... The answer: Eating a burrito from La Posta and watching Jurassic Park. Josh asked her to pause the movie and he showed up at the door with a piece of Pumpkin pie from the Chicken Pie Shop. It was love at first bite. 

Thor didn't mind one bit.

Josh had been looking everywhere for the perfect spot to pop the question. While on a weekend getaway at the Fess Parker resort in Santa Barbara, Charlene spotted the beautiful carousel at Chase Palm Park.
Josh knew that was going to be it! The setting was perfect, Josh proposed and captured the special moment.

Josh and Charlene agreed, Every time we pass a carousel, we stop and take a ride.
